Tender for procurement of around 5 new new diesel electric freight locomotives and procurement of around 3 diesel electric shunting locomotives is now published on the public procurement website of the European bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – ECEPP (EBERD Client e-Procurment Portal). The procured locomotives must not only meet technical requirements, but also conform to strict European norms regarding environmental protection.
The total value of the procurement of the locomotives amounts to EUR 20.2 million, and the deadline for submission of tenders is 28th March 2025. This procurement is part of a wider project of “Srbija Kargo“ a.d. rolling stock renewal, which is realised from the proceeds of the loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The aim of the project is the modernisation of the rolling stock of “Srbija Kargo“ a.d. and to reduce environmental pollution caused by railway freight transport, which will significantly improve the quality and capacities of railway transport.
